Six Words

Borrowing from Hemingway: Describe yourself in six words. Your professional self, that is (in other words, leave out the fact that you spend the majority of your off-work time playing Mafia Wars on Facebook).

This is a great little exercise to prime yourself for rewriting your resume or preparing for an interview. Know your essence. Communicate it through your work accomplishments and experience. Communicate it through your language and stories. Tell the recruiter who you are, how you work and why you’ll work well at this company.

Know yourself. Be yourself. You and the company you work for will both be much happier that way.

Okay, maybe that wasn’t what you had in mind. But I do think it would be a good fit. I will be applying soon, and hope to be considered. The blog looks great. Best of luck with all the social media efforts.
