Learning about Insurance from the Inside

This week American Family had some familiar friends back to our Madison campus.  An organization called Wisconsin Foundation for Independent Colleges (WFIC) hosts an Insurance Institute to allow college students an opportunity to learn about the insurance industry.

For one day, the students of the WFIC Insurance Institute visited the American Family Insurance National Headquarters.  The day included panel discussions with claims, marketing, and actuarial employees.  It also included a tour of our training facility called the Applied Learning Center where they saw how we provide hands on training to our claims professionals.  The picture is of the “auto room” which is filled with cars having various types of damage.

The day was absolutely great.  What better way to share our culture and talk about careers  than to throw the doors wide open.  If I had to sum it up in one word I would say the day was. . . . . .

Take Care

I want to thank Scott for the great work he has contributed to making our Institute and the Insurance Consortium such a great success. We are delighted by our affiliation and our partnership with American Family Insurance.

    Best regards,

Love the Tah-WFIC comment — very clever. What a great thing to do for students to see what working in insurance is all about.
